Six shots, real court values, and the math your students will say out loud. About two minutes. Tell us who's playing and we'll get you on the court.
Set up your game
Pick an end of the court and which side your team counts on. First time here? Keep coaching on — it walks you through the first possession.
About 2 minutesOne of many Fraction Ball gamesSame court, mat and values as the real thing
Turn sound on (top right) to hear the Shot Caller and Counter say the math. The 12-second shot clock and 8-second Counter timer are demo additions for pace — the physical game has no time limit.
Paused
The shot clock and Counter timer are stopped. Pick up right where you left off.
Every kid on the court has a job — Shooter, Point Caller, Rebounder, Counter, Checker, Tracker — and they rotate every three shots, so nobody sits out.
Fractions and decimals are on the court and mat, so fractions, decimals, and equivalence (¾ = 0.75) are things students learn as they play.
The number line, the tracking sheet, the supplemental activities and worksheets turn play into data students analyze themselves.
Make It Count is one of many games in the Fraction Ball curriculum including 16 activities, half in the classroom and half on the court or mat, aligned to grade 4 and 5 fraction standards.
